We achieved a new
A few years ago we joined Heineken's global CSR programme. Part of the programme is to go through an extensive 4 pillar CSR audit which covers four main areas: Environment, Labor Practices, Fair Business Pratices and Sustainable Procurement.
This audit is managed by EcoVadis, a global CSR rating company headquartered in Paris. In order to provide fresh data to our clients and benchmark our CSR practices against current industry standards we will by the end of this year again go through the same audit cycle.
Last year we went on to become both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited. For a few years now we are a member of Sedex too, a global not-for-profit organisation. Sedex is home to the world’s largest collaborative platform for sharing responsible sourcing data on supply chains. Apart from simply being a member factories like us can go through either a 2 pillar or a more extensive, 4 pillar SMETA audit.
SMETA stands for Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit and is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world. Two representatives of our supplier partner for certifications, SGS, visited our factory, and performed a 4 pillar SMETA audit after which we got accredited. Here is what a 4 pillar SMETA audit is comprised of:
Labor Standards / Health and Safety / Management Systems / Entitlement to Work / Subcontracting and Homeworking / Environmental assessment (extended) / Business Ethics
